We Were The Good Guys!

We Were The Good Guys! Yes. The United States had its faults. But most people, and countries, saw the United States as the "Good Guys." We helped with dealing with so many health problems throughout the world. This was especially true in African countries where millions of lives were saved thanks to the great work of USAID. Those efforts were destroyed when that organization was eliminated in 2025. The United States also came to the aid of Ukraine and made it possible for them to mount a defense against Russia. That effort has been greatly weakened as U.S. support was significantly reduced, and in some cases eliminated, in 2025. Support for NATO and our desire to strengthen our alliances with European countries was extremely strong but was weakened in 2025 that was highlighted by an attempted U.S. takeover of Greenland in 2025. The United States also criticized Russia for attacking and going to war with Ukraine. We preached the respect for territorial boundries of sovereign countries. We were the Good Guys! That changed in 2025 when the United States went to war against Venezuela. There was no declaration of war. We also bombed and destroyed ships that were suspected of carrying drugs although we still have not seen the evidence. There was no due process. There were no warnings. The United States Coast Guard stopped these types of vessels frequently without loss of life in most cases. We were the "Good Guys!" Now the War in Iran is in the second week. Thousands of lives, including hundreds of children, have lost their lives in this war. We should consider every life precious and should make every effort to prevent the loss of life of any innocent person, especially children, and only destroy lives of those who are a direct threat to the safety and well being of the United States and our allies. We were the "Good Guys!" We can be again!

The War in Iran

The War in Iran I have not heard of anyone who thought that the supreme leader of Iran was a good person or a good leader. The leadership of Iran was, and still is, a disgrace to humanity. But I have real concerns about the way this war began. I love the Constitution of the United States. Why does President Trump ignore our most precious document? It is the role of the President of the United States to receive a "Declaration of War" when considering going to war with another country. He did not do that. There will be a Resolution submitted in Congress this week that simply requires the President to respect the role of Congress in decisions about going to war. I believe it will pass both houses of Congress because it simply requires the President to follow our U.S. Constitution. I also believe he will veto this. What will that say about our President and our most precious document?

Could This Be Possible?

Many U.S. Citizens have concerns about what has happened over the last year during the Trump Administration. Is it possible that the Trump Administration does not care about these concerns since they control all branches of our Federal Government? Is it possible for this administration to gut the Federal Government of most, if not all, government oversight bureaus and agencies? Is it possible that one immigration enforcement agency could be strengthened and funded to become a personal army of this administration? Is it possible that this force could be sent into cities and incite violent acts that could enable the administration to invoke the Insurrection Act? Is it possible that this could be used to send his personal troops into cities before the midterm elections and intimidate voters at polling places and remove voting machines afterwards? Is it possible that election results could be overturned if they are not favorable to the administration. Is it possible the concerns and opinions of U.S. Citizens simply don't matter anymore? Well they sure do matter to me and I sue hope that all of us can demand that the U.S. Constitution and the Rule of Law will be followed. But anything is possible right now.

Law Enforcement and Military and Military Branches: Dedication to the United States Constitution

Make no mistake about it. The Constitution of the United States is the guiding light for all members of law enforcement and members of the U.S. Military in our country. Some people do not believe that. Senator Mark Kelly recently made a video saying members of the military had an obligation to not follow unlawful/unconstitutional orders. He is now being threatened for that video by the Secretary of Defense (Not War) with all kinds of consequences including a drastic reduction in Kelly's pension. There are so many actions being taken by the present administration that are causing incredible harm to our country. Blogs like this and many other forms of communication are so needed to make sure we return to following the U. S. Constitution and not the orders of one man.
